The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (MCRCC) is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to advocate for all victims and survivors of sexual assault and child sexual abuse, to prevent sexual violence in our community through education, and to provide ongoing support and healing to survivors of sexual assault.

Founded in 1973, as the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center, the center is governed by a board of directors and serves the community with seven paid staff and over 50 volunteers. In 2007, we became the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center and now serve not only the Monterey Peninsula, but also the communities of Monterey County, Carmel Valley and Big Sur.

Our services are funded by the Office of Emergency Services, Department of Health and Human Services, United Way of Monterey County, local foundation grants, fundraising events, business donations and contributions from people like you.

The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center is sensitive to the diversity of our community with regard to gender, race, color, ethnicity, language, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation and people with disabilities.

We at the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center provide a variety of services throughout the community which include:

- 24 Hour Crisis Line

- In Person Support for any Law Enforcement, Medical and/or Court Processes
- Individual Therapy at Low Cost
- Support Groups

"I was raped...but I am proud. I am proud of the person I am. I am proud that I survived such torment. I am proud that I did it without the mindless hate of the rapist. I am proud that out of the trauma I created a new beginning, a better Me. I am proud of me!"
