Help Your Community

Mission:

The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (MCRCC) is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to advocate for all victims and survivors of sexual assault and child sexual abuse, to prevent sexual violence in our community through education, and to provide ongoing support and healing to survivors of sexual assault.

Vision:

All individuals in Monterey County
will treat each other with respect and feel empowered
to make safe, healthy choices towards ending sexual violence.

Founded in 1973, as the Monterey Rape Crisis Center, the center is governed by a board of directors and serves the community with eleven paid staff and over 35 volunteers. In 2007, we became the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center and now serve not only the Monterey Peninsula but all of the communities of Monterey County.

Our services are funded by the California Office of Emergency Management Agency, Department of Public Health, and United Way of Monterey County, local foundation grants, fundraising events, business donations and contributions from people like you.

We welcome your participation to end sexual violence whether it be through a financial donation or a donation of your time.

Monterey County Rape Crisis Center is committed to ensuring your donation dollar is stretched to provide the highest quality of exceptional service to our community.

Every $10 donated can teach a child the skills he/she needs to avoid abuse and exploitation.

Every $35 donated can sponsor a session of the My Life or My Strength Clubs.

Every $40 donated can provide a sexual assault survivor with clothing, snacks and a journal after a forensic exam.

Every $60 donated enables a sexual assault/abuse survivor to receive an hour of professional counseling with one of our licensed therapists.

Every $110 donated provides 6-8 participants a two hour group therapy session.

Every $300 donated provides a four hour self defense workshop for 8-10 participants.
