Monterey County Rape Crisis Center's Executive Director Clare Mounteer was recently on Michelle Jackson's morning radio show on AM540. On the show she discussed the various prevention programs and client services we offer, especially highlighting our services to men. She also touched on the subject that roughly half of rape survivors in the state are in their teen years when they were raped. Clare also discussed the recent issues surrounding the expiration of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Thankfully, since this interview VAWA has been reintroduced, but please be sure to call your legislators to urge them to pass the bill.
